A History Lesson
Its a festive season where trees are decorated and great feasts are held, so this year we’ve decided to run much loved Christmas event for you!
It was not until the late Middle Ages that Christmas trees were first set up, 1419 in Freiburg is documented as being the first. The original trees were decorated with apples, nuts and gingerbread, which were to be eaten on New Year's Day. Gradually this tradition spread and became more popular. Most of the trees were placed outdoors in a similar fashion to maypoles, which is why people sometimes referred to the early Christmas tree as the Christmas pole.
The period between the 25th of November and Christmas was a time of fasting in which only special food and drink, such as gingerbread were consumed. The last two days, the 23rd and 24th were especially strict, only dried bread and soup would be served!
Fasting Period: 10/12/2024 to 24/12/2024
The Feast: 31/12/2024 to 07/01/2024
Fasting Period
During the fasting period, players will have to fight mobs to find various foods to decorate the tree with. As you decorate the tree, the tree will grow into a large stage. In total there are 4 stages of the tree.
The decorations are:
- Apple
- Gingerbread
- Fir cones
Players can also find other event items that have special features.
- Meat - Heals 200 hp
- Fish - Heals 50 hp
- Bread, Salt, Nuts - these increase the chance for you to get an event item
- Scraps - Collect these and if you have enough you will attract a companion, the Ermine.
The Feast
After the fasting period ends, there will be a short period of calm until the new year. On 31/12/2018 the grand feast will begin. Depending on the stage that your server has managed to build the tree, you will receive a certain buff, they are:
Stage 1 - No Feast
Stage 2 - Feast
- 50% faster cooldown from missions
Stage 3 - Great Feast
- 50% faster cooldown from missions
- 20% more silver from missions
Stage 4 - Glorious Feast
- 50% faster cooldown from missions
- 20% more silver from missions
- 20% cheaper stats
