Server merges

  • So with the merges actually happening, despite everything I thought, can you clarify a few things.

When the last merge happened all of the long dead accounts were removed.

Although the last merge coincided with the newer version of the game being implemented ( I think) so were the accounts removed because of the merge or the new version so basically will all the old accounts be deleted??

I saw someone else ask this also but not sure it was answered. They also talked about the high score being increased to show more but I remember when I first started playing on server 1 my first real achievement was getting in to the top 2000 and seeing my nAme on the list !!

The other thing I wanted to ask was about nicknames.

In the settings we have the option to change our name once without needing to put in a ticket but this has normally been used already.

Can this be reset to allow another change without having to put in a ticket. I'm sure the admins will be busy after it happens with lots of stuff.

I just don't want to have Sir Loin Steak(1), Sir Loin Steak(2) and so on like we did last time.

The same for orders - leaders should be able to change the name of their order without having to contact admins.

I know everyone is looking forward to having 15 TLO'S on the merged UK server but we might like to change the name of some.

    ;)

  • Hello

Regarding the ranking, yes our goal is to increase the list beyond the top2000. However, I cannot promise that this will be done before the merge. It might happen after the merge.

Regarding changing the nicknames, yes no need to send tickets for that.

  • About this posible removal of "long dead accounts" that SLS mentioned:

What would count as a "long dead account"? I've got a number of accounts that I haven't played for several months, but that are still loaded with rubies from various events (like e.g. Healer). Would these be removed? Up to now I think the rule was, as long as there are rubies on the account, it cannot be removed as dead account.

  • Since I cant reply to the announcement thread and this appears to be the active discussion on the server merges. I have the following general questions that hopefully can make it into the FAQ although maybe many of you all know the answers. I have put the questions in black and the white text is my commentary.

    1. What is considered a "community"? I'm guessing this is the location ID for each server group.

Context: "All 1x servers within each community will be merged into a single 1x server. All 4x, 5x, 8x, and 10x servers within each community will be merged into a single 5x server."

    2. Is there any consideration or timeline for all "communities" to be merged into one international community?

I feel like the community is owed this answer even if there is no plans currently, since the communication and transparency has been so poor for over a decade that players need to understand what the actual results of these new mergers will bring. In my opinion this is a major determining factor in what type of server is worth my time to continue to play after these merges. While the community mergers are overdue by about 8-10 years this is an opportunity for GF to make right and create these international servers sooner than later.

    3. Will there be any option for 1x Server characters to move to 5x or plans to eventually merge those servers together?

Similar to question two, this is also important for the community to understand. I worry that the standard servers are going to remain died even after this change as the current incentives bring no new players to these servers as new players will still be pushed to younger servers. I believe the rational behind 5X or higher servers should be allowing players to catch up to then eventually be combine to a main server? I personally think that 1x servers are outdated and were fine 10+ years ago but frankly the 4-5x servers should just be the normal speed and everyone should be combined together. For those that will complain that the 1x servers have existed longer see my sentence above this is offset by the server speed. Regardless, the more segregation (communities, speed of server, etc.) active players are forced into the more the community suffers in my opinion.

    4. Will there be any modification to the current Castle system?

Even after these mergers I would be shocked if any server will maintain 50 active players on the server let alone within an alliance. Can these limits be removed or modified? In conjunction with the reply's above above inactive knights will have to be kept or multi-accounts will need to be allowed within the same alliance in order for us to actually field enough to continue raids. I saw a suggestion about the old raid system coming back which might be welcomed with combination of our current one. Either way something about this system needs to change unless there is a way to get hundreds of active users back into the same server. I'm by no means an expert on this so I'm sure someone has a better solution.

Regardless I am happy to play again even if it will be for 90 days before it turns back into the same old story. For the first time in 8 years I have loaded up on some Rubies and I feel that GF and the community should be given some credit here for doing something meaningful to the game we all enjoy. Hopefully, we can actually get some well deserved dialog since it seems like GF has not completely forgotten this game exists.

The term "community" here refers to the individual languages. This game is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Bulgarian and many more.

Accordingly, there are two English (UK and US), Spanish, French, German, Bulgarian communities and many more.

While the community mergers are overdue by about 8-10 years this is an opportunity for GF to make right and create these international servers sooner than later.

In some other Gameforge games, communities are merged together, e.g. two UK and one US server become one EN server.

Or all languages (EN, US, ES, PT, ...) are combined on one server. This is then called an "international server".

If something like this will happen in BattleKnight in the futher, we will let you know.

If this will be implimented into the game we will also inform you about this.

We currently have no information about this. Perhaps the merging should first take place without any problems.

  • I've just seen the message to people in the first merge.

The last 2 servers will not be included in the merge??????

There has been no mention of that until today.

Will that be the same in every country???

All the messages up until now have said that all servers in communities will merge.

  • Yes, it will apply to all countries.

I apologize for the late information. I thought I gave it previously to all but seems I already did it for those who are getting merged next week.

  • So all the people who have already abandoned those two servers or like me have stopped bothering playing them much because we were told they would be merged soon just got screwed basically.

How can you say that ALL servers will be merging and then turn around weeks later and say ' oh actually these two won't be merging '

    This isn't a mistake it's outright incompetence.

This is absolutely not what has been said in the announcement.

It says all speed servers will be merged and each community will have 2 servers.

One 1x speed and one 5x speed.

So now you are saying there will be three 5x speed as the last two aren't included in the merge.

  • The level of indifference and incompetence that is evident here is simply unbelievable.

Heck, we always suspected that GF doesn't really care that much about BK and its long time loyal players, but you didn't have to shove it into our faces like that. Disgusting.

Can you please at least fix the order messaging system, so that we can communicate this latest "bright idea" to our fellow order members?

    Dear Knights,

We are pleased to announce that we are making significant progress in our preparations to merge Battleknight servers. Initial internal tests have yielded very promising results, and we are confident that a server merge can be implemented on Battleknight servers within the next three months.

While we cannot provide an exact date at this time, we can inform you that there will be multiple merging dates. We will begin with smaller communities to ensure everything is functioning correctly. The entire process, from the first merge to the last, is expected to span approximately three weeks.

Post-merge, the number of communities will remain the same, meaning only servers within the same community will be merged. Each community will have two servers after the merge, with the exception of Latvia and Lithuania. They will have one server each.

All 1x servers within each community will be merged into a single 1x server. All 4x, 5x, 8x, and 10x servers within each community will be merged into a single 5x server.

We will provide you with further information and a comprehensive FAQ at a later date.

    Best regards,

    Your Battleknight Team

This is the information we received a month ago.

Now you are changing this a month later.

    Best regards,

    Your Battleknight Players

  • No response to this ????

We get an announcement that ALL of the speed servers will be merged into one 5 x speed server on the 15th of June.

Then on the 12th of July - 4 weeks later we are told that the last 2 servers won't be included in the merge.

So all the dead and empty servers will be merged and the two newest where all the active players are will be left out.

How does this possibly make any sense??

This is not solving the problem of dying servers is it ????????????

The whole point was to bring all the active players together in one place and you kind of built all our hopes up and then whoosh, abandoned that good idea and decided to bring all the inactive players into one place and keep the actives out of the equation.

    And then ignore the question.

    Well done.

  • Yes i think we need a clarification.. sadly the german forum is doing like nothing (i know you guys have RL aswell but.. its a bit meh that we need to read the other forums.. sometimes not even the english one)

I mean its such a BIG thing.. and yes we had a FAQ and a lot was said there but not everything... and that like it takes so long to fix ordermessages is so lame .. i dont know :<

    8nfkyz2u.jpg

  • What more clarification do you need? Just look at the server lists for the fusion in the spanish and brazilian communities.

Here's a clear statement from the spanish forum:

Fusión de servidores: ¡vienen los vikingos!

It is said there in no uncertain words that it's a reminder that the last two open servers will not be included.

Here are the server lists for br and es:

    Fusiones de los servidores

There you can see that for both communities only the newest server is not included, not the two newest.

So, what could be more typical of the way the BK staff communicates with us?

First, they remind us of something that has never been said before and contradicts the original announcement.

Then, the actual implementation contradicts the said reminder as well as the original announcement.

I do not believe they do this on purpose. But still, the it leaves a bad impression, like a chaotic circus where noone is in charge.
